StabilRail Railroad Services was built from the merger of two companies that spent over two decades earning their reputations in the field.
 

K2 Construction was founded in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2001 by Travis Sondgeroth and Tom Rogge. Starting with a small crew doing underground utility work, K2 grew into an underground and civil contractor completing more than 800 projects across the Midwest — specializing in underground utilities, HDD, geothermal, paving, bridges, and concrete structures.
 

Rush Creek Construction was founded in 2006 by Ross Stepan, Rod Beekman, and Roc Beekman. The company transitioned from earthwork and utility subcontracting into Class I railroad contracting, building a reputation on rail yard expansions, mainline and siding work, geotechnical stabilization, and environmental restoration from North Dakota to Texas. Rush Creek's flood response work on the Missouri River in 2010 and 2019 became defining chapters for the company.
 

In 2026, the two teams merged to form StabilRail Railroad Services. Today, StabilRail has three offices, 300+ skilled tradesmen, and one self-performing platform built to handle railroad, civil, environmental, and utility infrastructure under a single contract.
